• The basics of RF, networking and satellite technology
• Specific satellite modems, radio, multiplexers, PUS, (Prodelin) antenna installation, etc
• Link budget calculation
• Skynet procedures
• Spectrum analyzers and measurement of absolute power and carrier to noise over noise ratios (C+N)/N
• Bit-error-ratio (BER) testing and use of voltmeters
• PC/Laptop use for loading and running software (e.g. radio settings and multiplexer settings)
• Compass, inclinometer and hand tools use to re-point the antenna
• Mounting connectors to a cable in the correct way using the right tools
